Historically SMRR's activity, since 1995, has been the recovery of cardboard to meet the needs of its group. Its knowledge of the paper and cardboard markets enabled rapid development of recovery, which opened the way to the export of bales of cardboard waste.

SMRR has started an investment in the transformation of recovered cardboard waste to move up the value chain of this product. SMRR is currently investing in two production lines for egg trays through its subsidiary SMPPAO “Moroccan Company for the Production of Egg Trays” SMPPAO « Société Marocaine de Production de Plateaux Alvéoles pour Œufs »
